"Any school that promotes Mind Friendly Learning and Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL), needs to book Carl for an assembly as what we promote in school every day can so easily be reinforced and understood when someone with 'street cred', like Carl delivers the same message."

Pupils from schools in the North West have been taking part in special assemblies delivered by the KTBF Great Britain Team Captain and a multiple British, European and World Martial Arts Champion.
CSEF's Carl Thomas (24) who holds numerous accolades including the Double World Champion and MBC Sports Coach of the Year has been teaching pupils about physical and motivational techniques that he learnt through his Martial Arts experience which can then be transferred to their everyday activities.
Carl has been introducing the Self Discipline Challenge during assemblies when pupils are asked to complete a series of tasks at home. The purpose of the tasks is to increase their awareness of how positive behaviour can impact on other family members. Family and friends are encouraged to sponsor pupils during the challenge. All proceeds are donated to CSEF and will help to reduce the number of children killed or injured by teaching them the necessary skills to keep themselves safe.
"All the children were fully engaged, from the 4 year olds through to the 11 year olds and so motivated to complete the self-discipline tasks. Feedback from parents was very positive; they were impressed by the attitude of their children."

Over 1000 pupils from 12 schools across the North West have so far participated in CSEF's Self-Discipline Challenge, raising over £4,000 for the charity. A further series of assemblies will be held in Greater Manchester schools during the Spring and Summer Terms.
Gail Hargreaves, Schools Co-ordinator for CSEF said: "The Self-Discipline Challenge has been a resounding success and we are very impressed by the efforts of the pupils. The overall concept of the challenge is to contribute to families and schools working together, and to develop independent thinking and responsible individuals who understand the consequences of their behaviour. Feedback from pupils has been extremely positive and we are delighted to be driving an initiative that will make a big difference to a child's life."
